Subtitle Edit

We previously used Tsmuxer to demux Presentation Graphic Streams (PGS). In our output folder, we see two .sup files. These are our subtitle files. We are interested in only one of these files. We will need to encode these files into .srt in order to edit them. Subtitle Edit is a powerful Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine that we will use to achieve this. Subtitle Edit is the only program that I've auditioned that actually worked.
Load Subtitle Edit.
Click File > Import / OCR Blu-ray Sup File. We have two Sup files. One is legitimate, the other is not. Select both and pick the file that has more images.
Select OCR method to Tesseract and Language to English.
Under OCR Auto Correction / Spellchecking, uncheck Prompt and Guess for Unknown words. Every Japanese word and name undoubtedly be unrecognized by the dictionary, and prompt you everytime. SE isn't the best word guesser for the same reasons. No OCR is perfect, you will manually have to edit any mistakes that are made.
After we are done, we can save it as an .srt file, which is text and can be edited.
